"Almost" is not enough when we talk about advocacy for education and personal success.  At Eastern Washington University, we know this fact and each one of us, student leaders, faculty, staff, administrators, and EWU alumni, has contributed to the growth of our institution and community. My name is Oscar Ocaña. I am an international student born and raised in Durango, Mexico, first in my family to seek higher education, the oldest of three brothers, and proudly serving as president of Associated Students of EWU. I believe strongly that together as a community and institution we can create opportunities for those who fight everyday to make their dreams into success. Success that one day will become the dream of many. After obtaining my BA with a major in Economics, I plan to return to Mexico to make a difference in the lives of the people in my homeland improving the educational system in Mexico by establishing a faculty and student exchange program between Community Colleges of Spokane, EWU, and Mexican universities.
