Honors Curriculum
The Honors Program at Eastern Washington University offers unique curriculum for freshmen, transfer students, and upper-division students.
Freshman Sequence
Honors offers freshman a sequence of three interdisciplinary courses:
- HONS 101 The Ancient World (fall quarter) - satisfies 1 Humanities and 1 Social Science GECR
- HONS 102 The Middle Ages through the Reformation (winter quarter) - satisfies 1 Humanities and 1 Social Science GECR
- HONS 103 Modern Science and Society (spring quarter) - satisfies 1 Social Science and with HONS 104 Natural Science Lab counts as 1 Natural Science GECR
These courses are limited to 25 students per section and satisfy 6 of the General Education Core Requirements (GECR).

Upper Division Departmental Honors
For sophomores and above, there are Honors cross-listed courses in a wide variety of disciplines. Courses listed here. Some satisfy specific requirements, review EagleNET carefully. For example,
HONS 450 Cultural Ecology - satisfies the International Studies requirement.
Final Course grades below 3.3 are not accepted for Honors credit.

Transfer Students
The Transfer Honors Program provides incoming transfer students with a renewable $3,000 scholarship and requires participation in one Fall Honors course, Hons 301-01, Classical Ethics & Rhetoric.
