Honors Program & F. B. Huston Convocation
Graduating students who have completed the Honors program and Recipients of the Frances B. Huston medallion joined Eastern Washington University President Dr. Rodolfo Arevalo for the 2010 Honors Program & F. B. Huston Convocation at EWU's Showalter Auditorium. John Dodge, Tabitha Brown, Shar Lichty, Jacob Powell, Camille Troxel, and Talia Torrano proudly display a copy of Eastern Magazine at dusk on the banks of the San Juan River in south-east Utah. All are current students participating in the Honors Program/Epic Adventures spring break trip in March 2010. The adventure included river rafting and service work in a national park. "After four days in the river," says Honors Program Director Dana Elder, "their Eagle spirit was stronger than ever."

The EWU Honors Program and Phi Eta Sigma participated in The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life, a fun-filled and inspirational overnight event that raised money and awareness to support cancer patients and survivors.
Students, the Honors office staff, family, and friends rallied at the Honors/Phi Eta Sigma Team tent. Team members took turns walking or running around the EWU track all night.
Honors/EPIC Guatemala Spring Break Adventure 2009
Students had an Opportunity To:
- Spend 3-4 days living with a Peace Corps Volunteer. and assisting with their projects in rural Guatemala.
- Trek 3-days through the western highlands of Guatemala.
- 2 days exploring the city of Antigua, one of the oldest cities in the Western Hemisphere.
- Experience one of the oldest living cultures in the world, the Maya.
