Honors Scholarships
Note: EWU Scholarships begin Fall quarter only. The application deadline is February 15th.
Honors offers four-year scholarships for incoming Freshmen renewable with a 3.5 yearly cumulative GPA.
Honors scholarships are Eastern's best.
They include:
- The Killin
- Academic Honors
- Scholastic Honors
- Transfer Honors (two-year scholarship)
Anne Peasley received Honors scholarship support to complete
her academic career at Eastern Washington University.
To Qualify
Incoming Freshmen:
- 3.6 high school cumulative grade point average
- superior SAT scores AND/OR
- 26+ ACT comprehensive score
- Exceptions may be made for special circumstances and talents
Incoming Transfers:
- Must have an AA degree OR two full years of course work at a university
- 3.7 cumulative GPA
- Exceptions may be made for special circumstances and talents
To Apply
1. Obtain an EWUID.
Click on "Future Students" at the top of Eastern's homepage.
Then open "Apply for Admission" and begin the process to receive your EWUID number.
2. Go to the bottom right of the homepage, click on Eaglenet in the list of links.
Open "Future Students", then click on "Apply for the EWU Scholarship."
Your EWUID is required.
3. One letter of recommendation should be sent directly to the Honors Program,

Send the Honors Program a list of all Running Start or college courses that will be completed by August 31st as well as earned & anticipated AP or CLEP test scores.
Students who will have an AA degree with Running Start do not apply to Freshman Honors because they would duplicate credits already earned.
After February 15, applicants should contact the Honors office directly by phone or email. Submit a current transcript, a statement of academic interests and goals, and one Letter of Recommendation directly to:

Interested students are encouraged to visit EWU to learn more about the program. Applicants may phone ahead to arrange to sit in on a class and talk to faculty in their areas of interest.
