Freshman First Year Experience Programs
The Focus First Year and Eastern Scholars programs are both designed to:
- integrate first year students into the EWU community
- identify campus resources
- foster relationships amongst peers, staff, and faculty
TRiO FOCUS First Year
FOCUS First Year is housed within the Academic Success Center and offers a structured year-long experience for first-year freshman. The program is designed to help assist students successfully transition into the academic and social community of EWU. An emphasis will be placed on helping students cultivate successful college study strategies and time management. Students must be TRiO eligible to participate.
Current EWU students can learn more about how to participate in one or more student success services through the Academic Success Center.
Eastern Scholars Program
Through its focus on academic enrichment, the Eastern Scholars Program (ES) equips students with diverse skills to successfully navigate their first year at Eastern Washington University.
