New Student Awards for 2013-2014
Most of the new student awards for freshmen and transfers have been made. If you haven't received an award letter, please check your EagleNet account to see if you have any outstanding requirements and double check your mailing address. Please also check your Eagles email account frequently (if you have one set up). As noted previously, we are still waiting on important information from the Washington State Legislature before we will have final tuition, State Need Grant, and College Bound Scholarship amounts, and your awards may be subject to change.
Continuing Student Awards for 2013-2014
We anticipate making continuing student awards in late May to students with complete files. These awards will be delivered electronically, so please be sure to check your Eagles email and EagleNet accounts frequently, and be sure to respond to any requests for additional information .
Students who apply by the following dates receive priority consideration for EWU financial aid for the following academic year:
- Feb. 15: Date for application for admission or re-admission to EWU (new/transfer/former students only)
- Feb. 15: EWU Scholarship Application Deadline (application now closed)
- Feb. 15: Date FAFSA must be received by the Federal Processor for priority aid consideration (all students)
FAFSA's received after February 15th will still be considered, but awards are made on a funds-available basis and late applicants may not receive all the aid for which they might otherwise qualify. No EWU Scholarship applications will be accepted after February 15th, but departmental scholarship applications may have later deadline dates. Please see the information under "Scholarships" in the left sidebar for more details.
IRS Data Retrieval Tutorial
This tutorial explains how to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) to populate or update your FAFSA.
Cost of Attendance for 2013-2014
The estimated cost of attendance budgets for the 2013-2014 academic year are available for your reference. These are the standard "base" budgets and there are many variations depending on enrollment, program, living status, residency, etc. This estimate is based on an assumed tuition increase of 5 percent. However, the actual rate of increase is pending action by the State Legislature and the EWU Board of Trustees.
Cost of Attendance for 2012-2013
The cost of attendance budgets for the 2012-2013 academic year are available for your reference. These are the standard "base" budgets and there are many variations depending on enrollment, program, living status, residency, etc.
Net Price Calculator
The EWU Net Price Calculator has been updated to reflect the most recently available information. This calculator provides estimated net price information (defined as estimated cost of attendance minus estimated grant and scholarship aid) to current and prospective students and their families based on what similar students paid in a previous year.
For important information about the university, please visit the student disclosure information page.
Financial Aid for Certificate Programs
Beginning July 1, 2011, students taking a certificate program as a stand-alone program are no longer eligible for federal aid. However, state, institutional, and private aid is still available. This restriction does not apply to students who are taking certificate programs as a part of larger degree programs or to teacher certification students.
