Dr. Harvey Alvy, professor of educational leadership, curriculum and instruction, and foundations of education, is co-author of the well-received Learning from Lincoln: Leadership Practices for School Success, published in August 2010.

Summer Hess, a graduate student in EWU's MFA in Creative Writing program, is the university's first Fulbright Scholar. For 10 months, she is living, researching, writing, and climbing in Northern Chile. Her particular area of interest, the Atacama Desert and the impact of tourists from across the globe on the land and native culture.
