Dean's Welcome
Make a Living, Have a Life!
Graduates who demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively to an audience, to carefully and critically analyze information and apply it to decision making, and to craft creative solutions to problems are in high demand by employers in the business, arts, and nonprofit sectors. These are traits honed by the major programs of study in the College of Arts, Letters, and Education.
But it is not only college majors who hone these skills and reap the benefits of engagement in artistic, literary, language, fitness, and recreation study; many non-majors play in the marching band, sing in the choir, write for the newspaper, edit the literary magazine, become fluent in a foreign language, engage in fitness programs or learn a new sport.
Areas of study represented by the departments housed in the College of Arts, Letters, and Education are those to which people have turned to explore, explain, and express the essence of human existence.
