MFT Assessment
Assessing the effectiveness of the EWU business programs, and benchmarking them against national standards, is a critical aspect of serving our current and future students. A new part of this assessment process is the administering of the Major Field Test (MFT) for Business in conjunction with all MGMT 490 and BADM 590 sections. As an enrollee in MGMT 490 and BADM 590 you are expected to take the exam.
The results from this test will provide an opportunity for the EWU business programs, and for you as an individual, to benchmark yourself against approximately 110,000 other students across the nation who will take the same test this year. The summarized results of the test will give all of us a chance to demonstrate the quality of our programs and of our students. A separate report on your individual test results, including your ranking within your discipline and class as well as how you compared nationally, will provide you with the opportunity to show prospective employers an additional measure of your individual accomplishment.
MFT in Business for Undergraduate Four-Year Degree Programs
The Major Field Test in Business contains about 120 multiple-choice items designed to measure a student's subject knowledge and the ability to apply facts, concepts, theories and analytical methods. Some questions are grouped in sets and based on diagrams, charts and data tables. The questions represent a wide range of difficulty and cover depth and breadth in assessing students' achievement levels.
