Clubs & Organizations
Black Student Union
The Black Student Union (BSU) is a student organization working closely with AEP to provide a variety of academic and sociocultural events on the campus and in the Spokane community. Special events commemorate Kwanzaa, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday, African American History Month, and African American Awareness Week.
AEP and BSU also sponsor year-round public activities providing educational and cultural enlightenment about the history, literature, arts and the entire cultural heritage of African American individuals. Past activities have included drama productions, concerts and the hosting of foreign visitors.
The leadership experiences of former BSU officers have helped to complement their academic degrees and gain professional positions in their areas of interest.
EWU National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (N.A.A.C.P.)

They are very active with both the campus and the Cheney and Spokane community working with the Spokane chapter of the NAACP.
They are very active during Black History month, Kwanzaa, and Aids Awareness on campus.
