Eastern Washington University's Center for Disability Studies and Universal Access in conjunction with ARC of Spokane, Collation of Responsible Disabled (CORD), and Northwest Autism Center invite you to participate in a community forum aimed at focusing disability needs in higher education for our surrounding areas.

Background: The 2008 Higher Education Opportunities Act (PL 110-315) contains important provisions to improve access to postsecondary education for people with disabilities, including those with intellectual disabilities. This forum will bring people from the Northwest together to develop avenues to enhance access to higher education for youth with disabilities.
Purpose: The EWU Center for Disability Studies and Universal Access, in conjunction with community partners, is holding this public community forum for educators, service organizations, individuals with disabilities and their families to discuss post-secondary education options.
•·Options for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who could become non degree seeking matriculated students with individually tailored academic programs.
•·Retention supports to promote the success of degree seeking students with cognitive, social, or behavioral concerns.
•·Disability Studies academic program
