Blake Beecher, PhD
Assistant ProfessorSenior Hall 310Phone: 509.359.4547Email: bbeecher@ewu.eduBlake Beecher is an assistant professor in the School of Social Work. He came to Eastern in the fall of 2007. He had been a faculty member at BYU Hawaii, where he was an assistant professor in the Department of Social Work.
Beecher received his PhD from the University of Utah in 2006. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in social work from Weber State University and the University Nevada, Reno respectively.
He has been a practitioner and administrator in the community mental health and child welfare fields.

Lu Brown
Senior Lecturer, Associate Director of FieldSenior Hall 114Phone: 509.359.6425Email: lbrown@ewu.eduLuAnn "Lu" Brown is a full-time lecturer in the School of Social Work and also serves as the associate director of field. Prior to joining EWU's faculty in 1998, she worked in the community as a teacher, grass-roots organizer, advocate, counselor and group facilitator. She has more than 25 years' experience and training in civic activism, empowerment and advocacy.
She received her MSW from EWU in 1996. She holds a BA in social work from the University of Northern Iowa.

Ed Byrnes, PhD

He had been a faculty member at the School of Social Work at the University of Utah since 2001, where he was a research assistant professor, coordinated research effors in juvenile and crimanal justice, child welfare and program evaluation, as well as teaching research and statistics.
Dr. Byrnes received his PhD from the University of Utah in 2002. He holds a master's degree in social work and a bachelor's degree in psychology from the Univeristy of Utah.

Mary Ann Clute, PhD
Assistant ProfessorSenior Hall 216Phone: 509.359.2377Email: mclute@ewu.eduMary Ann Clute is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work She came to Eastern in the fall of 2000. She teaches in the undergraduate and graduate social work programs. She has a strong interest in teaching theory and death and dying.She has practiced as a social worker since 1980 primarily in the areas of intellectual disabilities (ID) and hospice care. She continues to work as an intermittent bereavement counselor for adults with ID for Hospice of Spokane.
Dr. Clute received her MSW from EWU in 1980. She holds bachelor degrees in sociology from EWU and in general studies from Washington State University. She received her PhD in social work from Case Western University in January of 2007.

Thomas Crofoot

BA in Liberal Arts from Evergreen State College in Olympia. MSW from Portland State University, Portland, Oregon. PhD in Social Welfare from the University of Washington, Seattle.

Diane Davis

Davis came to Eastern Washington University in the Fall of 1992. She had been a faculty member at the University of Texas at Austin, School of Social Work since 1989, where she was an assistant instructor in undergraduate social work field practicum and criminal justice.
Davis received her PhD from the University of Texas at Austin in 1992. She holds a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Oregon and a masters in social work from the University of Texas at Austin.

Kim Fordham

Fordham came to Eastern Washington University in the Fall of 1999. She had been a faculty member and social worker at North Idaho College teaching child development and working with family and children's services.
Fordham received her MSW from Eastern Washington University in 1999. She holds a bachelor's degree in human services from California State University, Fullerton, and elementary teaching credentials from California State University, Carson.

Hudnall came to Eastern Washington University in the Fall of 2000. She had been the manager of the Vocational Counseling Services Department at Cascades Job Corps Center in Sedro-Woolley, Wash., since 1997.
Hudnall received her MSW from the University of British Columbia in 1980. She holds a bachelor's degree from Whitworth College, Spokane, Wash.

Golie Jansen

Dr. Jansen came to Eastern Washington University in the Fall of 1992. She received her PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1992. She holds a bachelors degree in social work from CICSA School of Social Work, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and a masters in social work from Eastern Washington University.
Prior to coming to EWU, her work experiences included a stint in the Netherlands in a peace and social justice movement, in Papua,New Guinea for the United Nations and working with Southeast Asian refugee women in the United States.

Dr. Mackelprang came to Eastern Washington University in the Fall of 1987. He had been the chief of social work for the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Utah Medical Center since 1980.
Dr. Mackelprang received his DSW from the University of Utah in 1986. He also holds a bachelors degree in sociology and a CSW from the University of Utah.

Lisa Parise

Parise came to Eastern Washington University in the Fall of 1999. She had been a Community Resource Program Manager for Washington's Division of Children and Family Services since 1997.
Parise received her MSW from the University of Washington, Seattle, in 1997. She holds a BA degree in Creating Social Change in Community from Western Washington University, Fairhaven.

Diana Patterson

She joined Eastern Washington University in 2006 as a CWTAP field instructor and lecturer in the School of Social Work.
Patterson has previously worked for the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, the state of Washington Children's Administration and in private practice conducting adoption home studies and parenting evaluations for King County Superior Court.
Patterson received her MSW from the University of Washington in 1996. She earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from City University in 1991.

Amanda Reedy

She came to Eastern in the autumn of 2010. Dr. Reedy received her Ph.D. in social work and her MSW from The University of Iowa. Dr. Reedy holds bachelor's degrees in psychology and speech pathology.
Dr. Reedy has done research and practice in the areas of substance abuse, adolescent substance abuse, mental health, and corrections. Her areas of special interest include research, assessment, co-occurring disorders, military service members, and military families.

Bob Rich, PhD

He had been a faculty member at Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah, since 1969, where he was an instructor for the departments of sociology and child/family relations.
He received his PhD from Brigham Young University in 1970. He holds a bachelor's degree in sociology and a master's in social work from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City. He also holds a master's in public administration from Auburn University, Montgomery, Ala.

Mike Ryan

He had been an administrator for Catholic Charities, Diocese of Spokane since 1986, where he was an associate director in charge of all internal programmatic components of Catholic Charities agencies in eastern Washington.
He received his MSW from St. Louis University in 1996. He holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy and a master's in theology from St. Kieran's College, Kilkenny, Ireland.

Kim Stansbury, PhD

She came to Eastern Washington University in the summer of 2006. She had previously been a part-time instructor at Eastern Kentucky University, where she taught introduction to social work.
She received her PhD in gerontology from the University of Kentucky. She also holds bachelor's degrees in criminal justice and psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master's degree in social work from Southern Illinois University. In 2008, she was one of 10 inductees nationwide to the Hartford Faculty Scholars Program. Additionally, she has received the EWU Faculty Research and Creative Works Grant in 2007 and 2008.

Bob Stirling

He previously had been a social worker with the Department of Children and Family Services in both the Spokane and Colfax, Wash. offices. Before that he worked with Spokane County Head Start as a social worker where he worked with refugees, immigrants, homeless youth and teen parents. He also served in the Peace Corps and Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA.)
He received his MSW from Eastern Washington University in 1996, and also holds a bachelor's degree in applied psychology from EWU.

Jennifer Stucker, PhD

She received her DSW from the School of Social Welfare, University of California, Berkley, in 1986. She holds a bachelor's degree in social work from California State University, Long Beach, and a master's in social work from the University of Hawaii, Manoa.
