August 2nd – (Thursday) Fairways GC (Player’s Tournament, Individual Play, 8am Shotgun Start)

Scoring system:  Each team must turn in a score for at least 5 of the 6 team scrambles to be eligible for their divisional championship.  Teams that play in all 6 scramble rounds, and follow all necessary rules of eligibility, will count their top 5 weekly team scores towards their team total while dropping their lowest total of the 6 rounds, giving teams playing all 6 scramble rounds an added advantage over those choosing to play only five.

General Rules:

Each team will be allowed to play one of the first 5 scramble weeks on an alternate day or time without penalty.  After that, there will be a 10-point penalty for any team needing to play on an alternate date.  All makeup rounds must be turned in to the League Director by July 25th to be eligible.

EWU Students, Faculty/Staff, Alumni, Spouses & family members are all eligible.

Each team is allowed one non-EWU player.

Players pay their own green fees weekly.  Special coupons and city passes may not be used for this league.

Coed teams must have 2 male and 2 female players at all times while Women’s teams must be all female.

Substitutions are OK with prior approval from the League Director and may play no more than two rounds for a team before they will have to pay the league fee.

Senior Rules: Any male player over the age of 63 may hit from the red tees if they are not more than 50 yards from the regulation white tees.  If the red tee box is more than 50 yards from the whites, all male players must hit from the white tees

Super-Senior Rules:  Any male player over the age of 70 may hit from their choice of tee boxes, regardless of distance between tee boxes.

Team Scramble Rules:

Fivesomes are not allowed & teams with less than the required 4 players MAY NOT take an extra shot.

Each player will tee off on every hole.  The best drive will be selected and all players will hit from within one club length of that spot.  This format will continue until the ball reaches the green.  A ball in an out-of-play area, water-hazard or otherwise unplayable (under a tree, against a fence, etc) may not be used.  The original ball chosen may not be moved and must be played as it lies by the player that hit the shot.

Once on the putting surface, a ball must be selected for play with all players putting from that spot. Players may not practice putt, roll a ball to check the line, or any other method to get a better “read” other than their normal lining up of a putt.

Scoring: Double Eagle/Hole in One – 30 pts; Eagle – 10 pts; Birdie – 5 pts; Par – 3pts; Bogey or worse – No pts
