Activity Gyms 264 and 265

Activity Gymnasiums

These two mirror image activity gyms are named in honor of student athletes of Eastern who lost their lives while serving their country. Lt. Huston was a football player while at Eastern from 1954 through 1959. Known for his physical and mental toughness, he garnered Little All-American honors as a starting center and linebacker. His death occurred during a military training accident in Korea. Sgt. Hanneman was a strapping 6'4" hard throwing right hander for the baseball team in the 1966 and 1967 seasons. Called to duty at the height of the Vietnam War, "Mick" would not return home alive. These gymnasiums see steady use from a variety of activities that include physical education and recreation classes, intramural sports, and open gym use.
