Finding Materials
The Riverpoint Campus Library collection includes approximately 10,000 books and a relatively small number of videos. Approximately half of the collection belongs to Eastern Washington University and half to Washington State University. The Riverpoint Campus Library collects materials that support the academic programs offered at the Riverpoint campus: the design disciplines (e.g., landscape architecture), business and public administration, education, nursing, pharmacy, allied health sciences, etc. WSU students may borrow EWU items and vice versa. However, loan periods will vary, depending upon the affiliation of the borrower and the ownership of the item.
Books and Videos
To locate a book or video, either search the EWU-only catalog and limit your search to Riverpoint, or search the EWU WorldCat Local catalog. A search of WorldCat Local includes EWU and WSU holdings (although not limited to Riverpoint) as well as Summit (a combined system of 30+ academic libraries in Washington and Oregon) and other libraries worldwide. You can also search Griffin and limit to Riverpoint, for WSU holdings at Riverpoint.
- If the book or video is available at Riverpoint, then go to the 3rd floor and retrieve the it.
- If the book or video is available at the JFK Library in Cheney or at another library via WorldCat Local, click on the "Place a Hold" or "Request Item" button and follow the on-screen instructions. The instructions and delivery time will vary depending on which library has the item available for loan: a book from the JFK library will usually arrive in 1-2 days, a Summit book will usually arrive in 5-7 days, and a book from another library outside of the Summit system can take two weeks or longer.
The reference books are shelved on the main floor in Room 200 of the Academic Center Building and do not circulate.
Articles
Search for articles using one of the many subscription databases provided by EWU libraries. The full text of articles is often provided directly within the database. If full text is not available for a particular article, click on the Check for Full Text button and follow the instructions.
To determine availability of an article outside of one of our databases, first check to see if the article you want is available electronically or physically at Riverpoint. If you have a citation to an article, check:
- Find a Journal, Magazine, or Newspaper -- follow the instructions on this page for searching EWU's online and physical journal holdings
- WSU Griffin Catalog -- limit to Riverpoint to see if WSU offers online or physical access to the journal containing your article.
If the article is not available online or in the library, you may request it via Interlibrary Loan (ILL). Talk to a librarian about setting up an ILL account.
If item is available at Riverpoint, the patron is responsible for photocopying or scanning it.
