EWU Libraries

Eastern Washington University's JFK Library is a reciprocal lending library. Our fees are the same as yours. Shipping fees are for cost recovery (primarily for overseas locations).

Our lending policies are:

• Loan Period: 4 weeks from date of receipt of request. Note: Some materials have a 2 weeks use only.
• Special Materials: EWU theses are available for loan.
• Microfiche that are copyright cleared will have a duplicate fiche made and be treated as a copy.
• Microfilm: Limit 5 reels per order, no renewal. Only newspaper films over five-years-old circulate.
• Non-Circulating: Reference, Special Collections, Rare, Reserve, Periodicals, A-V & Newspapers.
• Shipping: Materials will be shipped by U.S. Mail, Library Rate unless otherwise specified.
• Shipping to members of the SUMMIT Consortium will be via courier.
• Renewals: One renewal may be granted unless a hold has been placed on the item.
• Recalls: Items may be recalled at any time.
• Charges: Reciprocal. If you charge us, we will charge you. ($3.00 minimum)
• Non-lenders & For fee document suppliers: $10.00
• Overdues: 1st Notice - No Charge.
• 2nd Notice - $13.00 NON-REFUNDABLE FEE.*
• Lost book fee average cost of academic books (adjusted annually) per book.
• Lost media replacement cost + processing fee.
  Invoices: Billed monthly, OCLC IFM participant
• International: $20.00 USD shipping fee for books (returnables) or two IFLA coupons.
• Canadian, Alaska, Hawaii & U.S. Territory Libraries: $5.00 USD shipping fee for books (returnables).

*Note: Libraries receiving a second notice will have their borrowing privileges suspended until the item(s) is/are returned and/or fees paid.

• Paper to paper: up to 30 pages, free. Over 30 pages $.12 per copy for ALL pages.
• Film to paper: up to 10 pages, free. Over 10 pages $.27 per copy for ALL pages.
• Fiche to paper: up to 10 pages, free. Over 10 pages $.27 per copy for ALL pages.
• Fiche to fiche: up to 10 pages, free. Over 10 pages $.27 per copy for ALL pages.
• Non-lenders & For fee document suppliers: $10.00
