College Credit Earned in High School

Students with Running Start Credits: Credits earned under Running Start in the state of Washington are treated just as any other transfer credits earned at the transcripting schools. For purposes of admission eligibility, students must meet all freshman admission criteria and have a minimum college GPA of a 2.0 or better.

College in the High School Credits: Freshman students with fewer than 40 transferable credits, including credits earned through "college in the high school" programs, must meet freshman admission criteria. "College in the high school" courses will be accepted as transfer credit if they are from a regionally-accredited college or university, and are consistent with our general transfer credit policy.

Advanced Placement: Credit for minimum scores on Advanced Placement examinations given by the College Board is awarded upon receipt of official score reports by the Office of Admissions.  The AP chart shows current score requirements and corresponding credits awarded at EWU.

International Baccalaureate: Eastern Washington University will award credit for Higher Level International Baccalaureate exam results of "5" or better. Acceptability of credits toward major requirements or GECRs is determined by the appropriate department. The IB chart shows current score requirements and corresponding credits awarded at EWU.

College Level Examination Program (CLEP): Eastern Washington University will award credit for CLEP tests. Acceptability of credits toward major requirements or general education requirements is determined by the appropriate department.
