Students who do not meet the published quantitative admission criteria will be reviewed holistically by committee. The committee will review the application including the Insight Resume and any other supporting materials in making an admissions decision.

Freshman Student Admission Requirements
Applicants who have a 3.3 cumulative GPA (or higher) and have satisfied the CADR will be automatically admitted regardless of SAT or ACT scores but the student must still submit one of these test scores.
Students who fall below a 3.3 GPA OR have CADR deficiencies will still be considered for admission using a holistic review process. In this process we consider Insight Resume responses, grade trends, course rigor, senior year course schedule and official SAT/ACT composite scores.
To be admissible, students must have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA in high school and any applicable college work.
College Academic Distribution Requirements (CADRs)
To ensure proper academic preparation for college, students must complete the following CADRs. These are the minimum requirements. In holistic review, additional consideration will be given to students who complete additional credits.
- 4 credits of English
- 3 credits of social sciences
- 2 credits of laboratory science (1 credit algebra based)
- 2 credits of world language (ASL accepted)
- 1 credit of fine art (may be replaced by 1 credit from any other category)
- 3 credits of mathematics including algebra I, algebra II, and geometry*
*Students entering in fall of 2012 must complete a math-based quantitative course in their senior year. Acceptable courses include algebra I, algebra II, geometry, pre-calculus and above, math analysis, statistics, applied math, appropriate career and technical courses, or an algebra-based science course such as chemistry or physics. Students who take pre-calculus, math analysis or calculus prior to their senior year are exempt from this requirement.
Test Scores - ACT or SAT
All incoming freshmen are required to submit official ACT (without writing) or SAT test scores. If you have a 3.3 GPA or higher, test scores will not be used in determining admission. They will however, be used in the scholarship selection process and as a placement tool for Eastern English courses.
In holistic review, test scores will be used to better understand a student's academic capabilities and potential for success as a scholar.
Transfer Student Admission Requirements
If you have 40 or more quarter hours (27 or more semester credits) of transferable credit:
you must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in all transferable college-level courses mathematics and English are recommended but notrequired for admission. If your cumulative GPA in all transferable college-level courses is between a 2.0 to 2.49 you must show completion of the highest level of pre-college level English and Intermediate Algebra with a 2.0 or better to be admissible.

- Was enrolled at Eastern for one or more quarters;
