Net Price Calculator
The EWU Net Price Calculator gives an early approximation of what you can expect to pay to attend EWU. It is not an application for financial aid and the results are estimates, not guarantees. However, the information can be helpful in making your college decision and planning your resources. Please keep in mind that the calculator does not currently incorporate many of the scholarships and tuition waivers offered by EWU. As such, please be sure to research those options on the financial aid and scholarship web page.
Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to be eligible for, and receive, an actual financial aid award that includes Federal grant, loan, or work-study assistance. For more information on applying for Federal student aid, go to www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Washington Residency
There are many factors that determine if a person meets the eligibility requirements for in-state residency tuition. For example:
- Students 24 years of age or younger are considered "dependents" unless they can show they are financially independent of their parents. As dependent students, the residency of their parents is what determines (or can determine) their residency status.
- Independent students taking over 6 credit hours within the first 12 months of moving to Washington State will need to make sure all of the items to establish their residency (driver's license, voter registration, vehicle registration, etc.) have been put into place at least 12 months prior to the beginning of the quarter they want to establish residency.
- Non-US citizens who have resided in Washington State for at least 12 months may be able to qualify for in-state residency rates in a variety of ways (i.e. obtaining Permanent Residence status with USCIS, completing an affidavit, residing in the US under special visa status', etc.).
- Certain Native American tribal members may also be eligible for in-state residency rates.
- Residency is determined at the time of formal admission to the university on the basis of information included in the university application for admission. Determination of residency is governed by the statutes and policies of the State of Washington. Students who do not establish residency will be assessed out of state tuition.
If you have not done so yet, please check the information regarding residency at Records and Registration office site. If you are currently coded as an out-of-state resident but feel you may be eligible for in-state residency, please fill out the residency questionnaire, copy the applicable supporting documents, and send the information to the Records and Registration office.
