Good-to-Know Facts

  • EWU offers more than 100 fields of study, nine master's degrees, 11 graduate certificates, over 35 graduate programs, one educational specialist degree and one applied doctorate.

  • The university offers programs and student services at the Riverpoint Campus in Spokane and also offers programs statewide at Bellevue, Everett, Kent, Mount Vernon, Seattle, Shoreline, Tacoma, Vancouver and Yakima.
  • EWU participates in NCAA Division 1 Big Sky Conference athletics with six men's and eight women's intercollegiate teams.
  • There's room to roam - the campus covers 300 acres in a parklike setting with rolling wheat fields just steps from campus.
  • Spokane - Washington's second largest city - is just 16 miles away. Ski resorts, lakes and other outdoor recreation are nearby.
  • Unique among the state's regional universities, EWU offers a Greek system with 12 fraternities and nine sororities.
  • Eastern's $26.3 million Recreation Center features a rock climbing wall, ice rink and some of the best food on campus.
  • EWU's College of Business and Public Administration is one of the outstanding institutions featured in the 2011 edition of The Princeton Review's annual guidebook, The Best 300 Business Schools.
  • EWU has been named as a Military Friendly School for 2012 by G.I. Jobs Magazine, an honor that ranks Eastern in the top 15 percent of all colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide.
  • Eastern is the only university in the nation that has a research facility in a national wildlife refuge.  Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge is just minutes from campus.
  • EWU's outdoor club, EPIC Adventures, offers backpacking, camping, canoeing, kayaking, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snowboarding, biking. If it's human powered and in the outdoors, they do it.
  • There are 140 registered student organizations on campus.
