We love showing our campus to a variety of student groups. We will help arrange a visit customized to your group, based on the selected activities listed below. To help assure your visit is tailored to your needs, we ask for your assistance with planning. We require at least a four-week notice for overnight visits and three-week notice for day visits. Group tours are provided Monday through Friday in the 7th grade and above. Overnight visits are available Monday through Thursday for students in the 9th grade and above.

To coordinate a visit, please contact Jana Jaraysi at 509.359.7898 or jjaraysi@ewu.edu. Provide group name, number of students and chaperones, grade level in school, desired date(s) and start and end time of a visit. This helps in the organization of the visit. Also, please note groups of more than 100 present special challenges and require much more advanced planning and a limited number of activities. We advise smaller groups visiting if at all possible to help assure a more personal and informative visit.

Your visit may include the following:

Campus Tour

Time: 60-90 minutes
Audience:  All ages

Student guides provide walking tours of campus. As time allows, visitors will see the majority of Cheney campus. The tour includes the Library and University Recreation Center. Since current students live in the residential halls we limit tours of residential halls to 60 visitors or less. The ratio of the visitors to guides will depend on how many guides are available at that time. 

Admissions Presentation

Time: 15-45 minutes
Audience: All ages

Our general presentation covers the admissions process, how to apply for college, what students should do to prepare for college, and include a question and answer session with an Admissions Representative. 

On Campus Lunch

Time: 45-60 minutes
Audience:  All ages

Cost: varies, $7-$10/student. We are happy to help coordinate meals through EWU Dining Services whom require a two week notice. For groups under 60 we can coordinate meal cards for each student with a money limit determined by you. For groups over 60, Dining Services can coordinate a catered meal for your group if that is requested.

Student Panel

Time: 30 minutes
Audience:  All ages

Open question and answer time with 3-6 current students. 

University Recreation Center

Time: varies
Audience:  High School

It is $5 per person to ice skate. Our University Recreation Center includes an ice rink and rock climbing wall. We are happy to coordinate the usage of these facilitates as available.

Overnight Visits

Time: One night; Monday thru Thursday
Audience:  High School

We have the opportunity to host 28 high school age students in Streeter Hall for up to one night at a cost of $7.50 for lodging plus any meal costs. This is our preferred number due to available beds; in the summer other arrangements can be made for small or large groups. At least one chaperone must stay the night with the group. A four week notice is required. Please contact us for further details and availability.
