Earth Day Fair 2014

Earth Day Fair 2014Earth Day Fair 2014, EWU, Eastern Washington University, Earth Day

What:

The EWU Earth Day Fair was open to all EWU students, faculty, outside organizations, staff, and retirees. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase your sustainable and eco-friendly activities to the campus community.

Many came to celebrate Earth Day and see what Eastern Washington University and other organizations are doing to promote sustainability and environmental awareness.

Where:

Due to weather, Earth Day 2014 was primarily indoors in the PUB MPR. Certain displays still resided outside on the PUB Skirt such as Garbology and the Leaf Electric Vehicle.

New This Year:

EWU hosted a recycled art contest as part of our celebration of Earth Day 2014. The contest is designed to engage students, faculty, and staff throughout the campus in targeting items which are commonly recycled or sent to the incinerator, and instead rescuing them for creative art.

The top three student submissions received prizes for their hard work and creativity.

1st place prize $200.00  - Nakita Knudson

2nd place prize $120 gift card to Yarrow Hot Yoga Studio - Kimber McLaughlin

3rd place prize - Certificate for 2 dinner entrees at Anthony's at The Spokane Falls - LA Hal
