Time for Get Lit!
Published: April 12, 2017
SPOKANE, Washington - Eastern Washington University's Get Lit! Festival, the Northwest's premier event for readers, writers and book lovers, is back for the 19th annual running April 17-23. The weeklong festival includes readings, interviews, workshops, panel discussions, poetry slams, writing workshops and much more.
While many events are in Spokane, this year a full slate of panel discussions, readings, classroom visits, and a staged performance are scheduled at EWU's main campus in Cheney on Friday, April 21.
The headliners this year are Laila Lalami, Albert Goldbarth (reading with EWU's Christopher Howell and Nance Van Winckel), Jamaal May, Emily Ruskovich, John Rybicki, Meghan Daum, and Justin Torres. Organizers are also excited to have Alexandra Teague, Jason Rekulak, Shin Yu Pai as well as many of the outstanding faculty members in the Master of Fine Arts program at EWU's Inland Northwest Center for Writers.
The Get Lit! Festival seeks above all to foster a love of reading and writing, and to celebrate the world of literature among all people in our community. We hope that each year more will join with us to embrace the power and magic of words.
Please visit the Get Lit! Programs website for more information about the authors and a complete schedule of activities.
Tickets and festival passes are available through TicketsWest, 1-800-325-SEAT. For media inquiries call the Get Lit! Programs office at 509.828.1498.
