Legislative Branch

The Legislative Branch consists of nine elected representatives that serve one full term (one academic school year). All nine representatives have the power to vote. These representative positions include:

    Cassidy France is the ASEWU Academic Affairs Representative. Cassidy grew up in Buckley, WA and is a graduate from White River High School. She is currently a third-year student at Eastern Washington University and is working on earning her degree in Exercise Science to become an Occupational therapist. Cassidy is involved in the Greek community on campus and is a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She is also a part of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and is a mentor for students at the elementary schools in the Cheney School District. Inspiring students to become more involved in their educational experiences, taking pride in their school and having their voices be heard is something that Cassidy strives to promote through her experience on ASEWU. She looks forward to aiding in Eastern Washington University's continuing success and is blessed to be able to serve her fellow Eagles!

    Kyle Dodson is the ASEWU Athletics and University Advancement and was re-elected for a second term in Spring of 2014. Kyle is from Anchorage, Alaska, and is majoring in Athletic Training. This year he is focused on creating a lively and comfortable atmosphere for all students at EWU sporting events. He realizes the importance of student support for our athletes, and is committees to working with the university to promote and foster just such an environment.

    Jorge Garcia is the ASEWU Diversity Outreach for the 2014-2015. He was origginally born in Michoacán, Mexico but was raised in Wenatchee, Washington and graduated being as panther at WHS. Currently a Junior here at Eastern Washington University, Jorge is currently working on obtaining his Master's degree in sociology with minors in both Spanish and women studies. He hopes to achieve his dream goal by working for an international adoption organization. Jorge had been actively participating with the Up Til' Dawn group, and volunteered as a lunch time mentor in the community elementary schools and is involved with the Pride Center, he considers everyone as equal, "si todos somos iguales". Still involved in his EWU community and dedicated to inspire his student body to achieve greatness. Like Tom Giaquito once said "Diversity is a strength, not a weakness."

    Kristina Li is a 2nd year Mental Health Counseling student working on her master's degree. Her first year in the program, she held Eastern Scholars GSA position at the EWU Academic Success Center. Currently, she is an intern at FBH Adult Outpatient Services and the ASEWU Graduate Affairs Representative. She grew up in Uzbekistan and Russia. Russian is her first language. During her free time, Kristina loves to sing, dance and take walks in the park.

    Mikaila is a senior here at Eastern Washington University on the road to obtaining her B.A in International affairs with a minor in Spanish. She was Born and raised in the city of Everett and is the first in her family to go on to higher education. Upon arriving to EWU, Mikaila became heavily involved with a politically active organization on campus known as M.E.Ch.A and has continued to pursue her passion in politics ever since. By becoming a part of ASEWU, she hopes to bring a new sense of political awareness and interest to the Eastern campus, please feel free to contact her for any questions or concerns.

    Abbey Madison is the ASEWU Student Activities Representative.  She has grown up all over the United States but her roots are mainly in central California and western Washington where her family currently resides. She graduated class of 2010 from Tumwater High school and is currently pursuing her degree in Communications in Public Relations and Journalism. Abbey is an extremely active member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority on campus and has held multiple leadership positions. She presently holds two: Activities Chairwoman and Social Chairwoman.  Her passion is for event planning and bringing people together to enjoy life! In her free time, Abbey enjoys photography, singing and mentoring young women. Her greatest hope for the EWU students is that everyone would be able to find their niche in college and create lasting memories!

    Alexandra Rich is the ASEWU Student Health and Safety Service. She was born in Anaheim, California and grew up in Elk, Washington. She graduated from Riverside High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, and a Role Model for WDFY (Washington Drug Free Youth). Alexandra is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Community Health. She is an active member of EWU's Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ), and is also an employee of the Eagle Fresh Market, which she hopes to expand upon to make healthy and fresh food more accessible for students on campus.  Passionate about working out, Alexandra loves to stay active and encourages others to do the same.  Alexandra believes that health is our greatest wealth, and that a positive attitude is vital for long term success and happiness.

    Madison Azim is the ASEWU Student Services Representative. She grew up in Everett, Washington and was an extremely active member of Mariner High School, where she graduated in the top 5% of her class in 2012. Madison is going into her junior year at EWU and she is studying to be an elementary school teacher. Before becoming Student Services Representative, Madison worked as Public Relations Specialist for ASEWU. She is involved at Eastern as an active member in her sorority, she is also Vice President of Public Relations and Philanthropy on PanHellenic Council, and is in the honors program. Madison is always saying hello to those around her and loves to encourage people to follow their dreams. Her office is always open and she would love to hear about any concerns or desires that students may have!

    Nick Sweeney is the ASEWU Student Technology Advancement Representative. He graduated from Mead High School in Spokane, Washington. Currently a senior, Nick will be graduating this year with a Business Marketing major and a minor in Visual Communications Design. In his time at Eastern, Nick has held many leadership positions in his fraternity, Phi Delta Theta. He also served as President of EWU's Inter-Fraternity Council and has been a Community Adviser in Streeter Hall for two years.
