Research and Creative Works
Professor of English Paul Lindholdt's newest publication is a book of literary nonfiction published by the University of Iowa Press. In Earshot of Water: Notes from the Columbia Plateau is written with "the precision of a naturalist, the critical eye of an ecologist, the affection of an apologist, and the self-revelation and self-awareness of a personal essayist ..."
Rachel Toor, assistant professor of creative writing, is an author of three works of creative nonfiction and a columnist for several publications. Her most recent gig takes the form of poignant commentary on being both an academic and an athlete. Judging by the numbers of comments she inspires, Rachel is one of the most popular columnists for Athleta Chi.
Dr. Harvey Alvy, recently retired professor of educational leadership, curriculum and instruction, and foundations of education, is co-author of the well-received Learning from Lincoln: Leadership Practices for School Success, published in August 2010.
