Admission Policies and General Information
Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service (PTCAS)
The supplemental application we require through EWU Graduate Studies will instruct you to send transcripts and your GRE scores to Graduate Studies. Do not send initial transcripts to the Graduate Studies Office, please send these to PTCAS instead.
Policy on Acceptance of Transfer Students into EWU DPT Program:
The EWU Doctor of Physical Therapy Program does not accept students who wish to transfer into the program from another DPT program. Students who wish to complete their DPT education at EWU are encouraged to apply for admission to the program according to the application process, and if accepted, will matriculate at the beginning of the program. Rationale: Doctor of Physical Therapy curricula vary widely in terms of content, order, and timing; it is therefore difficult to assess the didactic and clinical expertise of a student who wishes to transfer into the program and receive some credit for DPT courses already completed at another institution.
We actively recruit potential students from all areas. Preference is not given for in state or Eastern Washington University students, instead we seek the best students possible. Applications are made available through PTCAS each July.
We participate in PTCAS early decision. Our general application deadline for the Fall of 2017 is November 1, 2016. Please submit an application through EWU Graduate Studies http://www.ewu.edu/grad/graduate-programs in addition to PTCAS by that date.
ALL COMMUNICATION WITH APPLICANTS IS DONE THROUGH E-MAIL EXCEPT FOR THE FINAL DISPOSITION WHICH IS SENT VIA US MAIL. PLEASE CHECK YOUR E-MAIL FREQUENTLY DURING THIS TIME
