The Bachelor of Arts in communication studies offers you two options: communication studies and communication studies in public relations. Both options provide you with a strong foundation in communication and the social sciences.

- Essay of approximately 1,000 words describing your background and goals, and how you perceive the program as helping to actualize these goals
- Two letters of recommendation
The MSC Director's recommendation for admission, based on an interview with the applicant, is required. You must submit a GRE general score; the verbal section score will be given special consideration. If you have not taken an undergraduate statistics course before admission to the program, you must take one prior to taking the research methods sequence. Based on your credentials and entrance requirements, you may be asked to take some classes in addition to the courses in the program in order to correct deficiencies. At least one year's successful professional experience will enhance your application.
The Masters of Science in Communications program accepts applicants throughout the academic year. In order to be admitted for a particular quarter, please have your admissions completed one month before that quarter begins. Please check with the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office or go to 102 Sutton Hall if you have any questions regarding aid.
