Case, an accomplished biologist, was one of a team of scientists who discovered the fossilized bones of a previously unknown carnivorous dinosaur in Antarctica.

Dr. Christian Hansen is head of the School of Computing and Engineering Sciences. He has been with EWU since 1993 and served previously as chair of the Department of Mathematics (2001-2009). He brings to this position more than 25 years experience in a variety of engineering applications, including reliability modeling and failure data analysis for complex electronic systems. Dr. Hansen also currently serves as the President of the IEEE Reliability Society. He is a graduate of the Technical University of Denmark with degrees in Electrical Engineering (MS, 1988) and Statistics (PhD, 1991).

His holds tenure in the Department of Physical Therapy and served as their department chair prior to assuming his current position. He received his doctor of philosophy (physical therapy) from Texas Woman's University, Houston Texas.
