Biology-Related Jobs

The Department of Biology actively provides information and resources on obtaining a science-related job as a service for our students and alumni. Current students may be able to use part- or full-time jobs in an internship ~ a career-oriented work experience where students earn university credits. For more information on internships, see the Internships page on our web site.

Description of Job Service

The Biology Department has a strong commitment toward helping our students prepare for jobs in their chosen field. Each week we post a list of biology-related jobs in the Pacific Northwest (see "Jobs List" below to link to current listing). Students and alumni are encouraged to check out the current jobs listing, local employer list, and other resources on our web site and in the department.

Jobs Lists

Click here to go to the Current Jobs List. These biology-related jobs are updated weekly and are generally posted on Wednesdays. Primarily entry-level positions and part-time (experience-gaining) jobs are listed. Contact employers directly for additional information about the position or to apply. [NOTE: The jobs list is in pdf format which requires Acrobat Reader to open. If you don't have the latest version of Acrobat Reader, go to the Adobe website, for a free download.]

We also maintain a list of companies with previously-advertised positions. Contact them directly to see if they:

  • Have current openings;
  • Anticipate hiring in the future; and/or
  • Keep resumes on file to contact as needed.

Each entry contains either the position that was advertised (with job duties and qualifications) or simply lists all the positions the company has posted. In either case, use this list to identify where you might want to work based on the types of jobs the different companies have advertised. Click here to go to the Previously-Advertised Jobs List. [See note above regarding Acrobat Reader.]
