Addiction StudiesThe Addiction Studies program is a multidisciplinary program that provides university-level education valuable for students in all disciplines, particularly those students interested in alcohol/drug prevention and treatment and careers in health, business and industry, criminal justice, and human services.

Interdisciplinary Studies Addiction Studies BA Degree provides students with the coursework necessary to become certified as a Chemical Dependency Professional in the State of Washington. The addiction field offers an excellent chance for graduates to make a significant impact on people's lives to move toward healthy life styles.
Addiction Studies (ADST) is a NAADAC approved education provider with the primary focus of preparing students for WA State Certifcation as Chemical Dependency Professionals.
The Addiction Studies Certificate in Suicide Assessment, Treatment, and Management enhances the development and promotion of effective clinical and professional practice of assessment, treatment and management of suicidal behaviors.
This certificate enhances competence in identifying and addressing basic issues that arise when working with various addictions by providing courses aligned with state and national standards in addiction treatment. In addition, this certificate offers courses required by the Prevention Specialist Board of Washington for Associate Prevention Professional candidates. Completion of the 'Addiction Studies Foundation Certificate' is a compliment to any major. Students will receive an Addiction Studies Program Certificate upon completion of the requirements. *Please note: This program certificate is for currently enrolled EWU students and not an independent program.
The Master's Certificate in Addiction Studies program provides competency based education to degreed professionals and others preparing to work in the field of addiction treatment or other community based practice settings. All Addiction Studies graduate classes are offered online.
This certificate program is available for persons who are currently licensed with the Washington state Department of Health (DOH) in an approved health care profession with either a license or associate license and wish to seek dual licensure as a Chemical Dependency Professional (CDP). All Addiction Studies graduate classes are offered online.
