Deja Everything by Adam Hammer

Poetry
ISBN: 0-89924-017-8
Paper: $10.00

Gripping, childlike, demented poems. Adam Hammer doesn't sound like anyone else. His is a world of fresh invention, of sailing away & floating off the edge. Attention all Precinct Captains and American League Umpires! I think we've got a hot one!

-James Tate

Adam Hammer was born in New York City and educated at the University of California at Santa Barbara. He taught at Colorado State University and Bowling Green and served as Director of Education at Southern Institute in Birmingham. He published poems in numerous small press magazines and gave many readings of his work across the country. He published two books of poetry, On A Train, Sleeping and Deja Everything. He was killed in a car wreck in Panama City on August 24, 1984.

An Excerpt from Deja Everything
Your theory is that there is
a man who walks around
covering each leaf with vaseline.

I don't have any theories.

Except that a cello is a disaster
to a dead person.
