Message from the Foundation Chairman
Thank you for your philanthropic interest in the EWU Foundation. Having graduated from Eastern and having spent many years on the Foundation board (most recently as its chair), I have the unique perspective regarding the progress in the area of University Advancement. What was once a state-funded institution has evolved into a state-assisted university, where the significance of advancing Eastern's mission has never been more important.
The past several years has certainly posed challenges. But, under the leadership of Dr. Arevalo and Eastern's Board of Trustees, as well as faculty, staff and supporters of the University, the funding challenge afforded us the opportunity to create a culture of philanthropy at Eastern.
As this culture has taken root, the response from you, our benefactors, has been both encouraging and generous. Eastern Washington University is clearly poised to continue its ever-increasing role in the life of our community. Your continued financial support of the University, via the EWU Foundation, will enable us to better serve the variety of economic, social and educational needs of our region, while ensuring the success of generations of students to come in their quest to start something big.
On my behalf of my fellow directors, thank you so much for your interest in Eastern, and your continued generosity.
Sincerely,
Rob Neilson '81
