The Editor's Craft
Bring your questions and join EWU Press managing editor Pamela Holway, Willow Springs editor Sam Ligon, book designer Ed Marquand, and poet and Northwest Review editor John Witte to talk about what editors do, what to expect and suspect in exchanges with editors, questions writers should and should not ask editors, technical requirements for the submission of manuscripts, and more. Moderator Christopher Howell is senior editor at Eastern Washington University Press.

Elizabeth Bishop (1911-1979) was one of the most influential poets of the 20th century. Her legendary wit, energy, and commitment to craft have inspired hundreds of readers and writers, including Tess Gallagher, one of the best known poets in America and poet Henry Carlile, a former student of Bishop’s at the University of Washington. Join Gallagher, Carlile, poet and translator Greg Simon, poet and critic Lisa Steinman, and moderator Professor Tony Flinn, a specialist in British and American modernist poetry, for a discussion of Bishop’s life and work.

Thank you for your interest in Get Lit!, the Northwest's premier literary festival.
