The Master's Certificate in Addiction Studies is designed for persons who have completed a bachelor's or master's degree with a background in social work or a related field and are interested in obtaining coursework that can lead to certification as a Chemical Dependency Professional. Students without a background in social work or related field will be required to complete prerequisite coursework to qualify for Washington state certification. 

To accommodate students who are employed, all courses are taught online. Addiction Studies faculty and staff are available for personal academic advising for prospective and/or current student needs.

Special Program Requirements

An online interview with the director/advisor for this program is essential to help plan your program of study.  The director/advisor will work with you online or by phone to discuss your academic goals and set up program of study to meet your educational plan.

***Please note that students without a background in social work or a related field may need to complete prerequisite coursework to qualify for state certification as a Chemical Dependency Professional.
