Childcare Resources

Your family matters at EWU, and the following resources can help you if you're a student and have children.

EWU Child Care Center

The EWU Children's Center is a state-licensed facility designed to provide flexible hourly or back-up care for the children of EWU students. To find out more about EWU Children's Center you can call 509.359.2025 or 359.2023 or visit their website.

The Curriculum Center at EWU Libraries

EWU is home to a large Curriculum Center for EWU students and community members. Visit the center to check out children's books, use educational toys and curriculum materials, or play with children's toys in a child-friendly area away from other students.

HOME

HOME is a networking program for low-income, non-traditional student parents. The HOME office maintains a resource referral database  on housing, childcare, scholarships and community services, as well as campus resources. They also offer childcare scholarships to help students pay for day-care expenses. Visit the HOME blog for more information.

The Children's Studies Club

EWU has a nationally recognized Children's Studies program, and they provide activities, fundraisers, community holiday parties, and education on children's rights. Contact the Children's Studies office at 509.359.6813 or browse the Children's Studies Facebook page for more information.

EWU Moms Who Bond

This Facebook group is for EWU students, faculty and staff with children. You'll need to contact a group administrator in order to join.

Dia Day at EWU

Dia (El día de los niños/El día de los libros) is a celebration of children, families and reading, and the event emphasizes the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Visit the EWU Library Research Guide website for more information about Hispanic resources, bilingual children's books and more.
