Your family matters at EWU, and the following resources can help you if you're a student and have children.
EWU Child Care Center
The EWU Children's Center is a state-licensed facility designed to provide flexible hourly or back-up care for the children of EWU students. To find out more about EWU Children's Center you can call 509.359.2025 or 359.2023 or visit their website.
The Curriculum Center at EWU Libraries
EWU is home to a large Curriculum Center for EWU students and community members. Visit the center to check out children's books, use educational toys and curriculum materials, or play with children's toys in a child-friendly area away from other students.
HOME is a networking program for low-income, non-traditional student parents. The HOME office maintains a resource referral database on housing, childcare, scholarships and community services, as well as campus resources. They also offer childcare scholarships to help students pay for day-care expenses. Visit the HOME blog for more information.
The Children's Studies Club
EWU has a nationally recognized Children's Studies program, and they provide activities, fundraisers, community holiday parties, and education on children's rights. Contact the Children's Studies office at 509.359.6813 or browse the Children's Studies Facebook page for more information.
EWU Moms Who Bond
This Facebook group is for EWU students, faculty and staff with children. You'll need to contact a group administrator in order to join.
Dia Day at EWU
Dia (El día de los niños/El día de los libros) is a celebration of children, families and reading, and the event emphasizes the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Domino Preschool for Children with Autism
Domino preschool is housed on the campus of Eastern Washington University. Domino families benefit from regular support and education meetings as well as monthly home visits by Domino teachers and therapists to integrate school successes in the home.
Spokane County Library: Cheney Branch
