   It's a fact:
The student-to-faculty ratio is 20:1.
The average undergraduate class size is 25 students.
Nearly 19 percent of Eastern’s population is culturally diverse.
Eastern offers programs in Africana Education, American Indian Studies, Chicano Education and Women and Gender Studies to help students feel at home and provide cultural awareness and education to the campus community.
Eastern offers outstanding mentoring, networking and internship opportunities with its 30,000 alumni residing in the Inland Northwest, and nearly 70,000 alumni worldwide.
An average of 100 Eastern business students intern annually in local businesses and agencies as well as with worldwide companies such as Boeing, Disney, Microsoft and Starbucks.
Eastern is the only regional comprehensive university in the state of Washington with a Greek Life system.
Eastern features over 100 clubs and organizations including academic fraternities, cultural clubs, departmental clubs, honor societies, political and social action groups, religious and spiritual organizations, service groups and philanthropic groups.
Eastern features a full-day FirstStep program and a full-day Freshman Orientation program for all incoming freshmen to help them establish connections with other students, faculty and staff, make an easy academic and social transition into college life and learn about Eastern’s mission and tradition.
Eastern has a very active and engaged student government – The Associated Students of Eastern Washington University (ASEWU).
Eagle Entertainment is a student-run organization that represents student voices regarding campus events. The group features a weekly activity series called WYSIWYG's (What You See Is What You Get), and sponsors regular events including comedians, speakers, karaoke, bingo nights, drag shows and live bands.
Eastern’s EPIC Adventures provides students positive, challenging, meaningful and affordable outdoor experiences that encourage exploration of personal potential and learning as a lifelong pursuit. EPIC offers outdoor activities, outdoor equipment rentals, group activities and trips, special events and an impressive Adventure Planning Resource Center.
Established in 1997, Eastern’s Quality Service Initiative (QSI) established a special mission for providing exceptional student-centered service at Eastern. QSI features a quarterly award for a faculty, staff or student employee that best demonstrates this mission. QSI also includes a yearly University-wide, two day in-service conference, often featuring national speakers, focused on providing the inspiration and tools for providing exceptional student-centered service.
Eastern has nearly 70,000 alumni worldwide, with approximately 30,000 alums residing in the Inland Northwest.
Eastern’s main campus is in Cheney, Wash., 20 miles outside of Spokane, Wash. The University has a branch at its Riverpoint Campus in Spokane and offers programs statewide at Bellevue, Everett, Kent, Mount Vernon, Seattle, Shoreline, Tacoma, Vancouver and Yakima.
Eastern is focused on expanding its presence at the Riverpoint Campus in Spokane, Wash. in order to provide the best access possible for individuals seeking high-demand careers in business, public administration and health care.
Eastern's School of Social Work and Human Service offers a master's in social work and law dual degree program through a unique public-private partnership with Gonzaga University Law School.
Eastern administrators have made several visits to China resulting in numerous educational partnerships with Chinese Institutions of higher learning. One such partnership is the Sino-American 1+2+1 Dual Degree Initiative in which Chinese students spend their first year at their home institution, then two years at Eastern before returning home to complete their degree.
Eastern’s Division of International and Educational Outreach (DIEO) has received several federal grants to welcomed delegations of educators from Iraq, Pakistan and Armenia in order to share with them our culture, educational trends and techniques.
Eastern’s Institute for Public Policy & Economic Analysis (IPPEA) provides data, research and analysis about a variety of factors and industries in the region intended to guide and assist businesses, organizations and government entities in making economic development and policy decisions. The IPPEA generates an annual economic outlook for the region, publishes several research monographs each year and is currently implementing the Community Indicators Initiative (www.communityindicators.ewu.edu).
Eastern’s Center for Entrepreneurial Activities (CEA) prepares students for an entrepreneurial career track through engaging them in collaborative entrepreneurial activity in the Inland Northwest. Students at the undergraduate and graduate level have provided research and analysis for more than 200 business enterprises; assisted regional communities with growth and development plans; and repeatedly won national recognition for excellence.
