EWU will host its 6th Annual Diversity and Inclusion Week May 8-12, 2017, on the Cheney and Spokane Campuses. The planning committee is seeking speakers to present "Diversity Lessons" on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, and Wednesday, May 10, 2017, on a variety of topics.  

Ideas for topics include, but are not limited to:  Age/Ageism ·  American World Perspectives ·  Disability ·  Immigration ·  International Culture · LGBTQ+/Gender · Race · Religion · Socio-Economic · Veteran

The goal of the "Diversity Lessons" is to share knowledge and experience in order to educate and inform - with a focus on highlighting people's unique differences that are largely unknown or overlooked.   All students, faculty, and staff are invited to participate.   

If you are interested in speaking, please fill out the Proposal Form and email to Kim Davis, Director of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action at  The proposal deadline is Friday, March 31, 2017.  

"Diversity Lessons" will be scheduled for Tuesday, May 9, 2017, and Wednesday, May 10, 2017.  Each speaker will be allotted 45 minutes in length for the presentation and questions from the audience.  Speakers will have the time options outlined on the proposal form.  Please specify your availability and be sure to include email and phone point of contact information on your Proposal Form. 

The committee will review all proposals and make final decisions the first week of April.
