Tuition Cut Approved
Published: June 24, 2016
CHENEY, Wash. - Eastern Washington University's Board of Trustees (BOT) has approved a FY2017 operating budget that includes lower tuition rates for the 2016-17 academic year.
The 15 percent resident undergraduate tuition decrease is authorized by the legislature. It means tuition for most EWU students has dropped by 20 percent since last year, when rates were cut by 5 percent.
Specific tuition rates for 2016-2017 can be found on the Student Financial Services site.
The overall FY 2017 operating budget for the university, which begins July 1, is set at $280 million.
The board also approved an $86.2 million capital budget for FY 2015-17. This includes more than $44 million in local capital for renovation of the Pence Union Building (PUB). The board has authorized the university to issue bonds to finance improvements to the PUB.
