CI Project Expands Reach

Published: November 17, 2016

CHENEY, Wash. - Eastern Washington University's Institute for Public Policy and Economic Analysis has introduced its latest Community Indicators project with the launch of the Skagit County Trends website. It's the first such indicators project on the west side of the state of Washington.

The website, www.skagitcountytrends.ewu.edu provides current and relevant data to anyone seeking to learn about the health and prosperity of Skagit County in the Northwest portion of Washington. The project was unveiled this month in Mount Vernon, Washington during a gathering between EWU administrators and leaders from Skagit County.

Categories include agriculture, economic vitality, education, health, housing, public safety, recreation/tourism and transportation. This comprehensive set of facts will help decision-making in both private and public settings around Skagit County.

Under its Community Indicators Initiative, the institute has created similar websites for more than a dozen other counties around the state of Washington and North Idaho, as well as one in Fresno, California.

For more information about the project, contact Patrick Jones, Institute director at 509.358.2266, or visit www.ewu.edu/policyinstitute or www.communityindicators.ewu.edu.
