The English Secondary Add-on Endorsement is for Washington State certified teachers. This low-residency summer program is 40 credits and intended for K-12 teachers who already hold teaching endorsements in disciplines other than English.<\/p>\n
Changes in K-12 education, namely the shift to Common Core State Standards, have created this need for current public school teachers. Now more than ever, all K-12 teachers, regardless of discipline, are expected to teach English language arts skills such as reading, writing, listening, and speaking. With these new expectations, there is an increased need for teachers to earn an English\/Secondary Add-on Endorsement.<\/p>\n
