His artwork and practice blends machine-made with handmade, often making ceramic objects that mimic natural materials, drawings, and prints that are drawn\/printed\/created with repetitive, machine-like quality; taking full advantage of the rhythmic precision and tireless lines a machine can produce. Machines are technically proficient but often associated with cold and almost cynical qualities, while the human touch is romantically imbued with inspiration, empathy, and warmth. This combination of hand and machine leaves the viewer questioning where the wires end and the veins begin. His varied sculptural approach includes performance, casting, assemblage, and collaborative community engagement.<\/p>\n<p>After receiving an MFA from the University of Minnesota in 2018, Marc was named a Jerome Fellow at Franconia Sculpture Park. Howard Oransky curated Marc\u2019s work into the 2019 exhibition Queer Forms which commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion. In 2021, Marc worked alongside artistic director Tamsie Ringler as the project coordinator of Winter is Alive! \u2013 an arts carnival in Madison, WI, designed to be a catalyst for contemplation and action to combat the global climate crisis. As part of the 2022 International Conference on Contemporary Cast Iron Art in Berlin, Marc was a panelist on Iron Art: Protest, Identity, and Liberation and also generated social media content to highlight contemporary metal casting artists. Marc showcases his work in exhibitions including Metro-dimensional: Exploratory Sculptural Artworks (Arizona), Sowing Iron: Cast Iron Sculpture Exhibit at the Dubuque Area Arts Collective (Iowa), and The Body Is But A Vessel (England).
