Yasser Omar Shahin teaches screenwriting for both film and television, film analysis and criticism.  Shahin received his BA in Film from Eastern Washington University in 2015,  and his MFA in Screenwriting in 2017 from Stephens College - Hollywood, CA, under the roofs of the original Charlie Chaplin studio.

Shahin writes in both the Arabic and English languages and constantly holds and participates in long distance seminars and courses in screenwriting for students in the Middle East.  Shahin has worked as an assistant producer and as a producer for many documentaries that have aired across the world. He published an essay on Gene Gauniter in "When Women Wrote Hollywood" published by McFarland.  Shahin is very interested in researching the portraying of minorities in Hollywood, especially Arabs, and how Hollywood demonizes and vilifies them from early cinema through modern Hollywood.  He is currently working on a screenwriting book in Arabic while working as a Middle East consultant for Hollywood writers.
