    Dr. Abbigail Coté teaches lyric diction, vocal pedagogy, opera workshop, and studio voice at Eastern Washington University. Dr. Coté enjoys an active opera direction and production career and recently produced the world premier of the chamber opera The Woman of Salt in Eugene, Oregon. In 2015 she directed Law and Opera at the Castelton Music Festival, featuring Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Dr. Coté has also served as assistant director for the OperaWorks young artist program in Los Angeles, California.

    Abbigail is passionate about vocal pedagogy and vocal science. She participated in the 2013 and 2016 David Jones Teacher Mentorship program, which focuses on utilization of Italian-Swedish School techniques in studio teaching. Her research interests include historical implications of scientific study of voice on vocal pedagogical practices.

    Dr. Coté is known for her warm engaging presence on stage and enjoys performing throughout the Pacific Northwest. Recent performances include guest soloist appearances with Orchestra Next, and the Umpqua Chamber Orchestra, the role of "she" in Poulence's opera, La Voix Humaine, and the role of Krystyna in Jake Heggie's Farewell Auschwitz. Future performances include a recital series throughout the Pacific Northwest with pianist Mark Stevens, featuring the music of Aaron Copland.
