BUED 470: Introduction to Computer Science for Teachers
BUED 470 is a NEW online course developed for Plan 1 Business and Marketing Education (BME) students. The course is also available as a standalone course for either four (4) college credits or 40 STEM clock hours to anyone wanting exposure on how to teach Computer Science effectively in the classroom. BUED 470 provides an opportunity for participants to learn coding technologies and tools for teaching computer science and focusing on teaching entry-level Computer Science.
BUED 470 is a course where students can register and take the course 100 percent online--no in-person meetings required. The course is structured to have weekly assignments and due dates in order to serve the working individual: flexibility.
The course is currently only available online fall quarters. Additional courses will be added based on demand and instructor availability. Please contact Adam Smith if you are interested in taking the course Spring 2017.
Enrolling in BUED 470 as a Standalone Course
You do NOT need to be enrolled in a program at Eastern Washington University (EWU) in order to take BUED 470. Non-matriculated students are eligible to register no earlier than two (2) weeks prior to the first day of classes.

Registration Begins: April 30 (Registration closes at 5 p.m. PST on April 7)
Quarter Begins: April 3
Quarter Ends: June 16
* A minimum of eight students is needed in order to offer BUED 470 Spring 2017. Please contact Adam Smith to get on the waitlist ASAP if you would like to enroll in BUED 470 in the spring.

BUED 470 College Credit Cost: $278 per credit plus $25 per credit instructional technology fee: $1,212.
STEM Clock Hours (40)
Clock Hour Course cost(s): $550 plus $80* for 40 STEM Clock Hours (*clock hours are optional).

BME Add-On Endorsement
If you do not have a Business and Marketing Education endorsement and have ever considered obtaining a BME Add-On Endorsement, it is strongly recommended you take BUED 470 for college credit. Clock hours cannot be changed or accepted as credit at any time; BUED 470 is a required credit course in EWU's Plan 1 BME program.
