Upcoming Events

Each year, occupational therapists, fieldwork educators, student coordinators of Eastern occupational students’ fieldwork placements and other community partners are invited to participate and provide structured feedback for student applicants to Eastern Washington University’s MOT program.

Participants can join for as little as a couple of hours to an all day experience as several “teams” of students move through an interviewing process. The process includes a campus tour, group interview, team building activity and program orientation. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Lee Knous, Secretary Sr., at lknous@ewu.edu.

The Class of 2022 interview day is tentatively scheduled for Saturday February 8, 2020.

Periodically throughout the academic year, the Occupational therapy Fieldwork office either singly or in collaboration with the Physical Therapy and Communication Sciences and Disorders Departments of the college sponsor educational workshops. In the past two years, several trainings have been offered: a two day training on motivational interviewing for health care professionals and the AOTA Fieldwork Educators Certificate Program Workshop.

Please check back on the website for offerings in 2019-20.

The Occupational Therapy hosts events throughout the year. Check back frequently for information regarding our annual events.

An EWU CHSPH and St. Luke’s Partnership

The Spokane Teaching Health Clinic

EWU’s College of Health Science and Public Health (CHSPH) in collaboration with and St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute have created a collaborative out-patient therapy clinic program with live clinical observation integrated into coursework, and available right on campus.

Located on the Spokane campus, STHC is housed in Washington State University’s Spokane Teaching Health Clinic, which was designed, in part, to train future health care providers to collaborate on patient care.
