2018 to develop a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program.\u00a0 She previously served Concordia University-Portland as inaugural Professor and later, Director of the undergraduate traditional and accelerated nursing programs.\u00a0 In addition to clinical and classroom teaching, Dr. Bachand led student trips to Mexico and Nicaragua for international experiences in health promotion and community health.<\/p>\n Dr. Bachand earned a BSN from Arkansas State University and started her career as a registered nurse at St. Jude\u2019s Children\u2019s Research Hospital in Memphis.\u00a0 Later, she worked in the adult oncology and bone marrow transplant services at Baylor University Medical Center and as a clinical nurse specialist at Medical City Hospital in Dallas, Texas.\u00a0 She earned both MS and PhD degrees in nursing at Texas Woman\u2019s University, where she started her teaching career.<\/p>\n Outside of teaching, Dr. Bachand has worked in cardiothoracic Her practicum centered around incentives for registered nurses who precept students.<\/p>\n She started her career as a registered nurse in the Cardiac Telemetry unit at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA.\u00a0 Later, she worked in rural ambulatory Cardiology and rural emergency nursing in and around Wenatchee, WA. She is a board certified Cardiac-Vascular nurse and is a trained Wilderness First Responder.<\/p>\n Outside of education and clinical practice, you can find Kiley somewhere outside riding bikes, skiing, running, sailing, and foraging.
