\nThe job of an Occupational Therapist is done for the purpose\/s Assess students\u2019 functional physical development levels; planning and implementing appropriate treatment to meet individual student objectives; identifying architectural barriers; providing recommendations for accessibility, program development, and student placement; and providing direction to COTAs and Occupational Therapy Assistants to maximize students\u2019 functional performance in the school setting.<\/p>\n
\nCollaborate with parents, teachers, physicians, administrators, and others to communicate information, resolve issues, and provide services in compliance with guidelines.
\nCoordinates services with community-based therapists and healthcare providers.
\nDevelops treatment plans, interventions, instruction, and evaluations to address motor skill deficits, sensory processing, and life skills.
\nDirects the work of assigned COTAs and Occupational Therapy Assistants.
\nFacilitates meetings to present evaluation results, identify barriers, and ensure state mandate compliance.
\nIntegrates specialized education plans into the K\u201312 environment to support IEP learning goals.
\nInterprets medical reports to support appropriate treatment and intervention plans.
\nMaintains required records, including progress reports, logs, billing information, and treatment plans.
\nManages specialized materials, equipment, and learning environments.
\nParticipates in meetings, trainings, IEPs, and team sessions.
\nPerforms site visits at multiple locations, including home visits, as required.
\nPursues professional development opportunities.
\nResearch intervention techniques, assessment tools, and resources.

\nProvides patient, family and\/or caregiver education, counseling, and refers patient to other home health services as appropriate.
\nEvaluates patient\u2019s functional status (muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbal communication skills, self-care ability, work capacity, etc.). Evaluates home environment for hazards or barriers to more independent living. Identifies equipment needs. Participates in the development of the total plan of care.
\nSupervises Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants according to organization policy and state regulations.
\nParticipates in discharge planning for patient.
\nKnowledge, Skills and Experience<\/p>\n
\nMust be licensed and able to practice in Washington State.
\nMust be eligible for or have taken the OT certification examination administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (\u201cNBCOT\u201d).
\nThe ability to drive and\/or have access to transportation for agency related travel (e.g. community partners, patients, etc.) is an essential function of the job. Must have and maintain a valid driver\u2019s license, maintain automobile insurance coverage and have access to an automobile.
\nPreferred Qualifications:<\/p>\n
\nFamiliarity with Homecare Homebase EMR.
\nSchedule, Pay and Benefits<\/p>\n
\nHourly $55 – 65 (Dependent on Experience) + Mileage Reimbursement.
\nMedical\/Dental\/Vision available the 1st of the month after hire.
