About MSWSA

The mission of the Master of Social Work Student Association (MSWSA) is to be a voice for the graduate students in the School of Social Work program across EWU campuses, to promote student leadership in the affairs and concerns of the School by assisting in the development of curriculum and policies. The MSWSA acts as a liaison between faculty, students, the university and surrounding communities.

Our Goals

We support students and act as a clearinghouse of information about the school, the university, professional associations, and opportunities for volunteer and career pathways. We abide by the Social Work Code of Ethics and the EWU Student Code of Conduct.

Our officers are current students and include president, vice president and secretary/treasurer from the part and full time MSW programs.

Our Members

The MSWSA represents all current MSW part-time and full-time students on each of our campuses. All EWU MSW students are automatically members of the MSWSA.

Applying to be an Officer

Apply to be an Officer

No matter which campus you attend, you’ll automatically become a member of the MSWSA when you’re accepted into your program.

Officers serve for a term of one year, and applications are accepted once a year. Some positions are filled in the fall, and others are filled in the spring. In order to serve as an officer, you must be:

  • an EWU MSW student
  • able to meet with officers and advisor for the business of the organization and to coordinate projects on a quarterly basis
  • a member in good academic standing
  • in compliance with the EWU student code of conduct

Meetings will be held on Zoom and in-person when possible in the new academic year.

  • Legislative liaison
  • Cohort representative
  • Community service chairperson/humanitarian projects chair

Spring Officer Application

Opens: Mar. 29
Closes: Apr. 29
Positions Included:

  • President
  • Vice president
  • Secretary/treasurer
