She has directed the program for 12+ years.<\/p>\n<p>Clinically, her background includes working with acute and severe mental health issues in the indigent and homeless population, as well as in a college counseling center.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Hope\u2019s research interests originated in her early working experiences, which include studying crisis response and intervention and specializing in suicide prevention by understanding a person\u2019s reasons for living. Those interests have persisted throughout her career and have branched into presentations, publications, and workshops.<\/p>\n<p>She is restarting her research to focus on understanding suicide risk and protective factors.
