About

The History/Secondary Minor at Eastern satisfies the requirements for the endorsement for teaching history in grades 5–12. In this program, you’ll study U.S. history, the history of the Pacific Northwest, as well as European history and choose between either Asian or Latin American history.

History Education/Secondary Minor

The Social Studies program at Eastern Washington University assists students seeking a Bachelor of Arts in Education (BAE) with a Social Studies Major endorsement as well as a History Minor endorsement.

The minor for students pursuing a major endorsement for a BAE and want to add a History Secondary Minor endorsement to their program plan. This minor is designed to help prepare students to teach 5th–12th grade history classes, including World History, U.S. History, and Washington State History.

This minor satisfies the state endorsement for grades 5–12.
